Moving ahead

The work progresses, in fits and starts, but the end is in sight - not too clearly, but it is definitely there.

This blog was intended to record progress towards completion of my novel, but that happy event has been deferred in favour of another book which is a compilation of short stories, written over a long period, romancing my early years in a small mining village in Nottinghamshire.

The position right now is thus: the compilation is complete, the manuscript is with my Little Team of Volunteers who have given it a going over.

Corrections and suggestions are right now being incorporated in the editing stage. It will, hopefully, soon be in a condition ready to allow final proofing before the whole thing can be passed to the Publisher, Lulu.

One of the story titles seems to have pushed itself to the cover of the Book - "The Chicken has found a new Worm"! which seems appropriate, so I fancy I will leave it thus.

Whilst working on all the nitty gritty, the tedious mechanics of proofing, I have had need of respite, this taking the form of writing new stories, the subjects of which just 'popped up'. The content and events surrounding the latter of these stories is the subject of the next blog, and may well provide material for another story. Wonderful, innit?
